The School only enrolls a select number of students each year and our aim is to turn out top quality junior chefs for Industry. Our culinary school motto is 'Attitude is Everything' and this is the work ethos that we instill in our students which is one of the reasons why our students are highly sought after by top chefs in Industry.
Our teaching relies on practical methods where theory is covered during the practical lesson.
What We Do
Students get to cook every recipe they are given in our culinary classes and there are no group demonstrations. Cheffing is very much a practical profession and watching demos is not the right way to learn how to become a chef.If you think you have what it takes to become a top chef please contact the school and we can schedule a visit.
The 1000 Hills Chefs School teaches the internationally recognized City & Guilds cheffing courses. First year students will graduate with three Diploma's: City & Guilds Diploma in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts, City & Guilds Diploma in Patisserie, and City & Guilds Diploma in Food and Beverage Service. Second year students graduate with the City & Guilds Advanced Diploma in Food Preparation and Supervision. We specialize in advanced pastry and Deli work in this year. We are a recognized training provider with the South African Chefs Association.
